We recommend Woodpecker Coffee which is directly on the left of this spot at No. 34 Terogong Raya. Woodpecker is open from 7am - 9pm, serves an excellent brew, using local beans and delicious small bites. We also love the gift shop at the front of the cafe called The Good Things in Life. Pak Nana works from a small shop two doors up from 25 Coffee. His sewing machine and work area look out onto the courtyard. Give Pak Nano a wave as you walk by. Best for: Almond milk and coconut water smoothies, cold pressed juice, wheatgrass shots, and fresh coconut water. A variety of grains (all organic) including red and white quinoa, rolled oats, corn semolina, rice flakes, millet. A variety of seeds and legumes (all organic) including sunflower seeds, pumpkin (pepita) seeds, flaxseed, chia seeds, green lentils. Virgin coconut oil, organic spelt flour, yacon syrup (a good sugar substitute for diabetics and those seeking a low GI sugar alternative), wheatgrass powder, white tea, sencha tea and Himalayan rock salt.
We drank: Almond milk Batcha (banana, macha green tea with bok choy added), a wheatgrass shot,(Ok so it tastes like a mouthful of grass...but the health benefits outweigh the farmyard taste) and coconut water fresh from a young coconut, a Raspbana smoothie (raspberries, banana, almond milk with added kale and chia seeds).
We took away: The remainder of the fresh coconut water (totalling two large glasses-full) and an apple, orange, carrot cold pressed juice.
On a second visit: Jo went ballistic and bought; Nepalese rock salt, cacao powder (a sugar-free hot chocolate for the kids), cashew cacao clusters (scrumptious guilt-free treats), organic tamari, organic corn semolina (we miss polenta chips!) as well as half a dozen soy candles.
Other Interesting notes: Bless management changed the music selection from jazz to the TOP 20 on KISS FM Radio. Since then they have seen a steady stream of teenagers 'hanging out' in the cafe over Almond Milk Smoothies and Coconut water straight from the coconut. Now that's got to be a good thing!
