Vibrant Jakarta Life : A Photomontage
I'm writing this week's blog post from Woodpecker Cafe, a favourite Jakarta spot to watch the world go by. Looking out the window, the roads (that have been virtually deserted due to millions of 'Jakartans' taking leave from the city for the Lebaran holiday) are now HUMMING again. We are happy about that... because for us, Jakarta wouldn't be Jakarta without the energy and buzz of its streets and street life. It's the local people, their innovative transport and delivery methods, food, culture and natural environment we love to observe (often from our car windows). Window scenes in particular make us ever curious, continually wondering and invariably wanting to know more.
So for today's post, Jo and I are sharing a collection of images we've held in our 'always expanding', 'our hard drives are bursting' photo collection ...but haven't shown you before. There's not much that slips past our camera lens on any given Jakarta day; iCloud keeps reminding us of that! and of course it's not always possible to share everything we've 'captured' with you every week.
But today, direct from our hard drives straight to you, we present...Our Jakarta experience to date...in pictures.
Interested in keeping up with us daily, rather than waiting for your ajb New Post each Friday?
We post an image of 'Our experience of Jakarta' every day on Instagram. If you're not already following us on Instagram (it's as simple as clicking on the words 'Follow Us'). There's also a sneak peak of our daily Instagram images here, at the bottom of the page.
Are you on our 'a journey bespoke' subscriber list? That too is easy, and means you won't miss a post. We deliver to your 'inbox' every Friday, covering our favourite Jakarta topics: People, Food, Lifestyle and Home & Design.
We also both 'love to chat', and enjoy receiving mail at hello@ajourneybespoke.com as well as reading and responding to your comments and feedback in the reply section after each post. So keep the messages coming!
Were there any photos you found particularly interesting, or you were curious to know more about in today's post? We would love to know what you think?
But for now, signing off until next Friday, when we will introduce you to the heavenly world of Indonesian Martabak! You don't want to miss it!
